Range Finder Carry Case by Crooked Horn Review

Mike Just the Facts: Crooked Horn has created the answer to one of the most asked question by Hunters: How do I carry my rangefinder with a Bino System? We have incorporated our most popular invention, the Bino System, with the RF Hook Up strap and patented quick-release buckle that will allow you to easily attach a rangefinder to it. The RF cover secures both rangefinder and binoculars and keeps them from bouncing around and is recommended for spot and stalk hunting, riding quads and horses, or crawling into shooting range. Where do I put my range finder? I personal have put it: In my shirt pocket, in my pants pocket, around my neck, on a belt case, carried it in my hand, etc. I have always felt I needed it somewhere else, somewhere close, and somewhere available.

Mar 07,  · As far as using the Crooked Horn with a backpack, put the binos on before the pack and snap the chest strap under the front bino straps. I’ve not had any issue with a pack and the binos. When I first connected my binos to the harness, I used the wire tie to do a single loop and cut off the extra.

Great for hunting, stalking, horse riding, bird watching and sporting events. Check out the newest invention, the binocular, camera and range finder hook up. The Trophy Taker slide and flex Bino-System is designed to use your shoulders instead of your neck to support the weight of the binoculars. Eliminating all neck fatigue! Crooked Horn Outfitters, originators of the incredible Bino-System, are the manufacturers of the Trophy Taker Bino-System, the only way to carry your binoculars.

Trophy Taker has solved the most asked question – how do I hook my rangefinder to my Bino-System? The Bino-System is the answer. No more searching for your rangefinders in the bottom of your pack or a tether system flopping around, the Bino-System is silent, streamline and won’t cause draw interference. Finally a way to carry your binoculars and rangefinders.

The addition of a binocular harness system is a great boon for outdoors people and acts like a second pair of hands when an animal is coming into range. The tiny pouch will hook to anything including the Bino System so you are ready to keep your optics, glasses, even CDs clean and scratch free. Made by Crooked Horn Outfitters, quality equipment for the outdoorsman. Also comes in camo colour which is not a stock item.

Nearly all manufacturers of binoculars will include a neckstrap, either fancy or plain, with the purchase of a new set of binoculars. Neckstraps are a great way to carry binos for a short while on scouting trips; but spend a day hiking with heavy bouncing binos on your chest or stomach. After a few hours of bouncing binos, you’ll quickly start packing the binos away where they are least accessible when you happen to jump game a few hundred yards away when coming around a ridge.

The rangefinder can be secured in two ways. It can be sercured to a buckle by a small lanyard that keeps it attached to the shoulder strap but allows for easy movement. There is also an elastic loop you can put around the eye cup to keep in place. I often hunt from a tree stand and like things secured so I keep it attached by the lanyard and buckle while in stand and when climbing up or down or walking in I also keep the elastic loop around it to just ensure that it stays in place.

The straps that secure the RF Shooter to you are elastic and easily adjusted. One strap goes over your right should while the other goes around your chest. After use it is easier to remove and replace. I always have my binos in my pack and only wear them in a bino harness when there is a good bit of visibility from my stand location.

Posted by Desert Rat I used to check in with Sparky Sparkes from M2D Camo every couple of years or so, and then it struck me one day that it has been 6 years since I last talked with Sparky. I was wayy overdue so I reached out to him and as usual, he was game! As always, I really appreciate him taking time from his busy schedule to andser some questions.

Wow — its been awhile since I checked in! Anything new or exciting on the camo front? Camo business has been on the outs since Idaho Fish and Game fabricated false accusations against me in and ruined my business.

Year after year went by birding with a stiff, sore neck from using the standard neck strap that comes with most binoculars. So if there is any birdwatching accessory out there for you to splurge on, it would be a harness. They remove the strain off your neck by distributing the weight of the binoculars through your shoulders. I honestly could not believe how much lighter the binoculars felt after using the harness versus the neck strap.

Types of Binocular Harness Attachments Quick Release There are primarily two different types of attachments for securing your binoculars to the harness. I would say that definitely the quick-release is quicker hence the name! The quick release buckle also attaches to the binoculars differently than the snap-on, which some people like. Snap-On For the snap-on attachment, you usually have to attach metal rings usually included with the harness to the neck strap anchors of your binoculars because they are typically not wide enough for the snap-on attachments.

Some don’t like the metal rings because they will sometimes rub against the binocular finish, but I personally have not found this to be the case. On the other hand, the quick-release attachments can be attached to the binocular strap anchors because you are sliding a strap through them first and then the quick release buckle, located further up the strap, is attached to the rest of the harness. Some people like to get a harness that is the same brand of their binoculars.
